Trek Africa Eco-Tours is offering you a new authentic way to experience Uganda..on foot. A Walking Safari truly brings you “Close to Nature”.
The walking safari will set you on slow paced, guided walk with the primary objective to explore different wildlife species along the bush. The small details that are overlooked on game drives become more apparent from the slower pace and lower angle of being on foot. The sense of excitement you get from stepping out of the vehicle and exploring on foot is second to none. Getting away from the noise on the engine opens up your senses to what is happening around you, allowing you to notice sights and creatures you would usually have driven past and missed.
Walking safaris are the ultimate way to experience the bush. The itineraries can be customised to match your budget and travel dates. We have divided these up into short walking safaris for those who perhaps have not done a walking safari before and want to dip their toe in the water, animal specific for those looking to trek to find wildlife such as gorillas or chimpanzees; longer walking safaris where walking is a large focus of the trip and alternative walking holidays where you might do safari and walking separately.
Short Walking Safaris
These short walking safaris are perfect if this is your first time walking in the African bush and you want to experience what it is like, but you don’t want to commit to several days or make it the main focus of your trip. The popular Gorilla Trek and Chimpanzee Tracking are found in this category.
Long Walking Safaris
These walking safaris are perfect for safari goers who want walking to be a key feature of their holiday and are comfortable spending several hours walking in the bush with a guide. Some of these also give you the opportunity to encounter larger game on foot which is an exhilarating experience.
Safety
While a walking safari is one of ultimate ways to experience Africa, remember you are in an environment with potentially dangerous wildlife. All Walking Safaris in National Parks are only done with game rangers provided by Uganda Wildlife Authority. – meaning you can enjoy an authentic and most importantly, safe experience.
