Itinerary

Day 1Kampala-Queen Elizabeth National Park

Depart Kampala at 7:00 am and drive to Mbarara via Masaka. Make the first stop over at Equator crossing for photographs. Continue your drive to Igongo Cultural Village to explore the life style and the culture of the Ankole and Bahima people. Lunch-break at Igongo. After lunch, proceed towards Queen Elizabeth National Park through beautiful scenery of Western Uganda and stop over at Kichwamba Escarpment for a Community/Nature Walk along the Escarpment overlooking the Western Rift valley in which lies Queen Elizabeth National Park. This is an opportunity to see how the rural folk live. Here you will see spectacular crater lakes and if time allows, participate in community activities like crop harvesting and local gin brewing.

Proceed to the Park and you may be in time for the evening game drive. You may see hippo, buffalo, elephant, Uganda Kob and a variety of birds.

Dinner and overnight at King Fisher, Katara or Enganzi Lodge (Mid range) Simba Camp (Budget)

Day 2Queen Elizabeth NP

Early morning Coffee/Tea and go for dawn game drive where most of the big game can be seen in abundance. You may encounter elephants, buffalo, water bucks, warthogs, lions, Uganda Kob, a variety of birds and some rarer animals like giant forest hog. You will visit the explosion crater area and Lake Katwe, a salt lake where local people extract salt using traditional technology.

After Lunch go for Boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lakes Edward and George. Here you will see hippo, buffalo, elephant and a host of birds. There are 638 recorded bird species in the park.

Day 3Queen Elizabeth-Kampala

Return to Kampala via Mbarara, with a stop-over for lunch. Proceed to Kampala and Entebbe for your evening flight.
