Itinerary

Day 1 Kampala-Queen Elizabeth National Park

Depart Kampala at 8:00 am and drive to Mbarara via Masaka. Make the first stop over at Equator crossing for photography. Continue your drive to Igongo Cultural Village to explore the life style and the culture of the Ankole and Bahima people. Lunch break at Igongo or Agip Motel Mbarara. After lunch, proceed towards Queen Elizabeth National Park through beautiful scenery of Western Uganda and stop over at Kichwamba Escarpment for a Community/Nature Walk along the Escarpment overlooking the Western Rift valley in which lies Queen Elizabeth National Park. This is an opportunity to see how the rural folk live. Here you will see spectacular crater lakes and participate in community activities like crop harvesting and local gin brewing.
Proceed to the Park and you may be in time for the evening game drive. You may see hippo, buffalo, elephant, Uganda Kob and a variety of birds.
Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Jacana (High end), King Fisher, Katara or Enganzi Lodge (Mid range) Simba Camp (Budget)

After Lunch go for Boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lakes Edward and George. Here you will see hippo, buffalo, elephant and a host of birds. There are 638 recorded bird species in the park.
Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Jacana (High end), King Fisher, Katara or Enganzi Lodge (Mid range) Simba Camp (Budget)

Meal plan Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 3: Chimp Tracking in Kyambura Gorge

After breakfast, go for Chimp tracking in Kyambura Gorge. The Kyambura Gorge experience is more than discovering chimpanzees in their natural environment: it teaches visitors about the ecosystems of Kyambura Gorge’s atmospheric “underground” rainforest, including vegetation types; bird identification and behavior; and chimp and monkey ecology. The Kyambura River flows through this thick “underground forest”, 100 meters below the Kichwamba Escarpment.
The gorge is best known for its resident chimpanzees. While walking through the gorge, you may spot other primates and some of the many birds found in the forest.

After lunch, you will go for a Community walk in the villages along Kichwamba Escarpment. The Walk gives you a great opportunity to see how the people live. It is also a great way to support the local community directly. The Walk is very informative and rewarding to the discerning visitor.

Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Jacana (High end), King Fisher, Katara or Enganzi Lodge (Mid range) Simba Camp (Budget)

Meal plan Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 4QENP-Kampala via Fort Portal

Return to Kampala, via Fort Portal and Mubende. This is a very scenic drive with the Rwenzoris in the background on the way to Fort Portal, where you will have a stop over for lunch. Proceed to Kampala arriving late evening.
