The Elgon standing in the east of Uganda rises to 4321m above sea level and is noted to have been the tallest in Africa before the forces of denudation reduced it to its current stand. The mountain is the forth in the region of East Africa and the eighth on the continent of Africa proudly endowed with largest Volcanic Mountain caldera that stretch to 42km2 and features the largest Volcanic base in the whole world with a size of 4,000km2. The adventure hike to the Elgon Mountain can be conducted at period of the year though it is more ideal in the dry season which captures the months of June to August and from December to March. The mountain features impressive features that range from Caves to water falls, luxurious vegetation, and fauna not forgetting counts of birds.
